Rescue in Switzerland

Rega provides professional medical assistance by air throughout Switzerland. That’s why its rescue helicopters are on standby at 14 different locations – in the mountains, but also near towns and cities. This means that Rega can take off quickly and be at the scene of the emergency within 15 minutes.

Rega currently operates two different types of rescue helicopters: 

  • Airbus Helicopters H145 D3 rescue helicopter

  • AgustaWestland Da Vinci rescue helicopter

Soon, the Rega helicopter fleet will consist of 21 of these state-of-the-art helicopters. They help provide even better care for patients and offer helicopter crews even more capabilities.

AgustaWestland Da Vinci rescue helicopter

This helicopter was in service every day for 16 years, transporting patients. It will now be gradually replaced by the new H145 D3 through the end of 2027.
