When does Rega come to someone’s aid?

Rega helps people in distress – both in Switzerland and all over the world. The Rega helicopters fly to emergencies in Switzerland. The Rega jets bring patients back home to Switzerland from other countries.

How Rega helps in Switzerland

Rega is often called out to deal with accidents. Rega brings medical assistance by air and can fly to any location in Switzerland in just a few minutes. Mostly they’re winter sports accidents, road accidents or accidents in the mountains. But Rega’s rescue helicopters are also needed to help seriously ill people, as well as to transfer patients from one hospital to another.

How Rega helps abroad

Rega can also help in the case of injuries and illnesses abroad. It brings patients back home to Switzerland with the Rega ambulance jet. If the illness or injury is not very serious, Rega’s medical consultants can also provide help or advice over the phone or arrange for a member of Rega’s medical staff to accompany the patient home on board a normal passenger aircraft.

Accidents can happen at any time – during the day and at night, and also at the weekend. That’s why Rega is ready for rescue missions around the clock, both in Switzerland and abroad.
